It provides all facilities for comprehensive care of intellectually disabled children under one roof.

Presently there are 200 special children in it with a well trained staff of special educators & Therapists. All the children are intellectually disabled and have mild to moderate disability. They have different types of Developmental Disabilities like Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), multiple disabilities.
Children who are educable or trainable are only admitted in school.
The curriculum is focussed towards developing skills & knowledge required for independent living with self esteem.

- Functional math, especially concepts of money, time and measurement.
- Awareness of ones surrounding like plants, vegetables, fruits, animals & peoples etc.
- Developing skills for activities of daily living.
- Teaching socially acceptable behavior.
- Help developing healthy hobbies.
In DISHA each child gets individual attention and according to his potential and ability the child is placed in an identical group of children. Each class has a composition of 8 children. A well planned and graded programme is set for children to acquire basic skills through training aids.
Parent’s active participation is a must for their child’s education and training. Parents have to contribute by practicing skills at home. We hold periodic counseling sessions for parents. For grown up children we have a vocational training programme in craft, music, block printing, candle making etc.
